It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world. For comparison: Al-Masjid al-Harām in Mecca has a capacity for around 820,000 visitors.

The mosque cupola of the Sheikh Zayid mosque, with a diameter of just over 32 meters, is the second-largest cupola in the world. There are also seven exquisite Swarovski crystal chandeliers inside the mosque. With a diameter of 10 metres and a height of 15 metres, the chandeliers are among the largest in the world. That's not all: the hand-knotted carpet inside the mosque holds another world record. With an area of 5627 square meters and a weight of 47 tons, it is the largest carpet of its kind. You will rarely see so much marble and gold leaf as you will in this mosque. If you visit Abu Dhabi, don't miss the Sheikh Zayid mosque!

The mosque is accessible for everyone, but out of respect one should follow the rules of the mosque. Among them are long trousers and tops for men and women, as well as a headscarf for women. At the entrance, appropriate robes can be borrowed free of charge. In addition, shoes must be taken off before entering.

Louvre Museum

The Louvre Art Museum in Abu Dhabi impresses with its location on the island of Saadiyat alone. It was opened in 2017. Saadiyat Island is a cultural district with several museums. The museum cooperates with the famous Louvre Museum in Paris, which is the most visited museum in the world. The museum's architecture was designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel and combines modern architecture with Arabic building tradition. The building complex consists of 55 rectangular buildings, among which there are water basins. The rectangular buildings are arranged next to each other as well as on top of each other. As a highlight, a net-like dome was stretched over them. It consists of 8,000 metal stars through which the sun's rays radiate onto the underlying building and water. This creates a special atmosphere inside the museum.

The works of the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi range from antiquity to the 21st century. On the 74th floor of the second Etihad Tower, there is a visitor terrace at an altitude of 300 meters. From there you will have a breathtaking view of Abu Dhabi. The viewing platform is connected to the Jumeirah Hotel of the other tower. The Etihad Towers also has an office building.
